Start to put your hands low and and let him follow, soon he will be giving the neck and come beutiful down. if the horse tries to take the rains out of your hands, push back and never give it up until he gives the neck. when u are dealing with this, look out if the horse is training to go faster, slow him down and keep him on the same speed. when he/she gives the neck, you can slow him down and collect him but pay atention, do this slowly ![]()

Collection doesnt necessarily have anything to do with an arched neck. Collection is really all about your horse carrying more weight on its hind legs making the forehand lighter and more expressive. I would deffinately try to find a trainer that will help you with the basics.

Dressage is all about a horse going forwards and working from behind. Its a bit like making a cake; all the ingredients put in at the right time = cake (yummy!), miss out a vital ingredient and it might look like a cake but it won't taste the same. In order to get a horse to work correctly you need ; impulsion, rhythm, bend, balance and they are to name but a few. I strongly reccommend getting yourself a trainer as it takes a few minutes to cause a problem and can take a lifetime to fix it.
